Beware:
Security: If you rent a house in An Phu, you should know that your house could be visited if it is in an isolated area. There has been no case of violence reported. If it happens, it will be during the night or the holidays. It doesn't happen often but we think it is better to use the service of a guard that would stay the night. Most house are equiped with a dedicated space for a guard outside the house. If you stay in a compound, the risk is more limited.
Flood: Some parts of Thao Dien are often floody. The water can reach 40-50 cm high in the street. If most houses are protected/elevated, the access can be difficult by bike and by car. The flood in An Phu comes with the tides. So you will notice it more during winter and during the day, in the morning and by the end of the afternoon.
