Learning Vietnamese may be confusing at
the beginning
The same word may have different
meanings according to the tone used (6
different tones). The easy part is
reading: Vietnamese people use the roman
alphabet.
The grammar structure is fairly simple,
words never change, and nouns have no
masculine/feminine, no plural forms.
Verbs have only one form regardless of
gender, person or tense.… So your
more urgent and important task will be
to get used to the pronunciation. One
more thing: Some variation exists
between the northern the center and the
southern Vietnam.
