importing a car

hi i have only limited access time to internet so here goes

i have a x5 back in the UK and due to high petrol prices the arse has gone out of the 4x4 market there , however i move to Hanoi next month would it be worth to ship the car there so to use myself rather than try and sell it back in the UK , its probably worth around 20k, im not sure on import taxes etc, im still waiting on a price for a container but ttey have not got back to me yet.....

Importing a car / motor is difficult and condition vary. Taxes etc , age restriction and so on. Some reading material is on http://english.vietnamnet.vn/

It depend on who you are working for, if working for embassies or NGO in Hanoi you can bring your car and this will be duty free but then you have to bring it out when you leave, if you work for your own or a foreign company then you have to pay import duties, this will be based on certain model/engine capacity of your car, let me know and I could give some details.
Driving in Hanoi is another issue, the streets are narrow and crownded, if you need more info, let me know
