Questions before i decide...(I) The motorbike
by Juandelc 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Hi there to all,

In my life i have allways travelled with my old motorbike to Any country that i have been transferred because of my job... and i turned down jobs because the destination country didn't allow me to bring it with me... so here goes the question.

Has anybody brought from their original country, in my case is Spain a Motorbike?.... I am trying to find info in the Removal companies.. but i don't know what to do.

Regards from a "future" neighbour,

Juan

importing "old" motor bikes to Vietnam is like pooring with a bucket water into the ocean. they are cheap and virtually anywhere available. Buying? it depends on a lot a factors as foreigners can not really legally own a motor bike and you will need a Vietnamese driving license. The international is not a valid thing here.
There are also loads of restriction on importing motors in general, like import taxes, age restrctions of the motor and possible many more. the main reason not to import: availability of break fix... and be sure, when driving here, there is no way around that. buy a motor, which see most wherever you live. only that gives a chance of a break fix and petrol.

Thanks Tak 1963 again for answering also this one.

You are right.. but.. call me crazy.. I lived in NY, Switzerland, UK, Korea, Hong Kong... and my bike... always with me .... there are two of them (one sentimental one.... 750 cc ) and a new one.... a 1000 RR type of bike...

I am not talking about scooters or 250 cc bikes... i know that if they break, i will have to repair by myself... (OR DRIVE IT TO A HONDA DEALER... NOBODY Knows where... HAHAHAHAHA), but normally with average maintenance... they go very well.

And please let me know about that foreigners cannot own a vehicle... is that true?... even if they are "legal residents, or permanent residents they can't....?

Thanks again for your response
