| I am Jimmy Tan, an telecom software engineer. Recently, I have been working as a technical sales manager, taking care of Hospital software selling; and I realized that I am not a salesperson. Because I always focus on software produces, always tell what I think about the produces, cannot tell lie, cannot be flattery. Therefore, it is likely that I fail to be a salesperson, because I always tell the truth to customers. I can tell you anything about what you need if you need a software or communication hardware system for your professional hospitals, but I cannot be a salesperson to you! Kindly considering that if we need to buy a thing to whom do we need to talk, a salesperson with impressive promises or a person who produces that thing! My cellphone (84)90 330 88 23 |

| CMI and communication |
 |
I was recently treated for shingles at Centre Medical International (CMI). The medical service was adequate but CMI have a communication problem. The company is French and gears its service to French speakers but increasing numbers of non-French speakers are using the clinic, mainly because it is significantly cheaper than other international medical services. The medical staff struggle with English. Non French speaking patients need to have a raft of questions ready because information is not offered readily. Some of the answers may also be difficult to interpret. For example "you use atonement every day." After putting clues together, 'atonement' became 'ointment'! The Vietnamese admin staff, on the other hand, handle French, English and Vietnamese with equal fluency.
Some medical staff also have personal email addresses printed on their business cards. Understandably, patients email doctors asking for medical advice. This was probably not the intention; email addresses are included for making appointments and possibly emergencies. But this is not stated anywhere. Emails to doctors are simply not responded to at all either because the doctors cannot write in English or simply though lack of courtesy and professionalism- or both!
CMI provides an adequate and moderately priced general practice service, but the company needs to address the issue of patient communication. |
