Hello folks,

I'm from the U.K and looking to gain a TEFL qualification. I've recently been researching moving to Vietnam to find TEFL work and so had a little insight into how much of a struggle it can be to obtain a work visa.
In my case I fear this may be even more difficult or even impossible! I have a suspended sentence for affray from 2008 which although was not a full conviction I'm pretty sure it will show up on my criminal background check.
I'm unsure as to wether having any form of criminal record whatsoever will prevent me from obtaining a work visa or if this only applies to certain more serious crimes.
If anyone can advise me as to what the relationship between criminal history and work visas is I would be very grateful! Also, it appears it may also be possible to work without a work visa and instead keep applying for a 3 month business visa. Would this be an option?
Thanks for any help in advance

I've seen you ask this question elsewhere online and I'm VERY interested to hear what people have to say about this, as I'm in a very similar situation myself. Has anyone answered this question for you, or have you found out for yourself?
