The Dong (VND) will be your main currency here. The notes come in denominations from 200 dong to the recent 500 000 dong. 5 000, 1 000 et 200 dong coins have been introduced in December 2003.

The US Dollar as well as VISA, MasterCard and JCB cards are accepted in most hotels, Spa and other places dedicated to tourism…

 

ATM machines can be found easily in cities but only some of them accept foreign cards. You can withdraw money at the VIETCOMBANK, HSBC and ANZ bank.

If you stay in Vietnam for a long time, then you can easily open an account in a local bank such as VIETCOMBANK or in a foreign bank.
